About the group
The TT, Transportation Technology Research Group of TEMA – Centre for Mechanical Engineering and Automation located in the University of Aveiro and recognized by the Portuguese Science and Technology Foundation (FCT) – is coordinated by Professor Margarida Coelho. The TT group has two main scientific areas: Energy and Transportation. The main goal of this research group is to develop intelligent tools towards a sustainable transport system by investing on projects concerning Safety, Environment, Energy and Mobility fields (e.g. road accident managements, road emissions and route optimization). Research Activities: -> Impacts of transportation systems; -> Modeling of traffic, fuel consumption and emissions; -> Optimization / Route choice; -> Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS); -> Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) of alternative energy vectors for road vehicles.
